Women's Circle 8th Annual RetreatFood for the Soul Location Workshops The Cuisine Schedule Talent Show Registration The EnvironsYMCA Camp Shand is nestled on 120 acres of scenic woodlands in southern Lebanon County, just 20 miles from downtown Lancaster. Check out www.ymca.org. The camp itself is about a mile off the main highway. You might see a deer on your way in. The cabins are open sided with bunks. There are a limited number of bunks in two closed windowed cabins. The new shower facilities are fabulous, making your stay even more comfortable. Outdoors it’s wooded. There’s a lake. Catch
and release if you like to fish. We’ve actually
caught fish in the lake, so it is stocked!
There’s a lovely stream that runs through the
camp. There are plenty of trails. Some are
quite easy and we’re sure you can find one
to really challenge you. Beach volleyball court
– anyone want to act out their May-Walsh fantasies?
How about a climbing wall? We’ve always got
some basketball going, and we even tried some
4-square one year. Or was it tetherball? There’s
a lot to do outside. Quiet and contemplative,
or rowdy and playful. |
